Danielle Riegel is an internationally acclaimed harpist for over 35 years. She began her studies at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague at the age of 12, and since then, has built a distinguished career as a versatile artist. 

Danielle has performed at prestigious venues and festivals across Europe, including the Salzburger Festspiele, World Harp Congress, and Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam. She graduated cum laude from prestigious institutions in Berlin, Amsterdam, and Lyon and is a prizewinner of multiple national and international competitions in the Netherlands, USA, Italy, Israel, and France. Throughout her career, Danielle has collaborated with world-renowned orchestras and was the principal harpist of the Symphony Orchestra of The Hague for 15 years. Based in the Algarve since 2020, she has been a lead performer at the Algarve Harp Festival in 2022 and 2023. Most recently she deeply moved the participants of the Ecstatic Dance Festival Holland 2025 with her mesmerizing performances. 

Driven by her passion for expanding horizons, she has explored various music styles and collaborated with diverse artists, including composers, dancers, and actors. Her repertoire encompasses classical and contemporary works, with several pieces dedicated to her, as well as neo-classical compositions by Ludovico Einaudi, Yann Tiersen, and Yiruma, along with jazz and pop music. This artistic expansion led to the creation of her signature Lay-Down Harp Concerts — immersive performances where audiences are invited to lie down and experience deep listening through the evocative sound world of Einaudi and other contemporary composers, all re-imagined on the harp. 

Inspired by her love for mantra and world folk music, she has engaged in new collaborations, most recently with Ayla Schafer, performing at sold-out concerts in Lisbon, Antwerp, and Amsterdam and recording for her new album. In her continuous pursuit of artistic growth, she has delved into improvisation and arranging while incorporating other instruments and electronic elements such as a looper to create captivating sonic landscapes for her sound journeys. 

In the past decade, Danielle has also immersed herself in the healing qualities of music, completing trainings in harp therapy and sound healing. Furthermore, she has completed numerous dance, yoga, qigong, bodywork, and coaching trainings. Using this extensive skill set, Danielle developed the Harp & Sound Journeys, a ceremonial space that starts with a sound journey with sacred instruments and a heart opening meditation, followed by an intimate concert with Meditative harp music. And the Harp & Healing Sessions – a unique method that combines harp therapy, sound healing, energetic bodywork and coaching to assist individuals in reconnecting with their inner selves and the wholeness within. Her work in this field complements her dedication to creating transformative and deeply moving musical experiences.
